DGS Astro Paving was created at the 1994 by the amalgamation of DGS Engineering of Fort St John and Astro Paving of Dawson Creek. Initially setup in Dawson Creek, DGS Astro paving is now installed in a state-of-the-art facility in the energetic and fast-growing city of Fort St John.
The City, located in the heart of majestic Peace River country, is the largest regional service center in north-eastern BC, servicing 64,000 people in outlying areas. Since its beginning in 1794 as a trading post, Fort St. John has grown with opportunities like the completion of the Alaska Highway in 1942 that sparked a population boom and the discovery of high-grade oil in 1951 that set the City’s course as British Columbia’s Oil and Gas Capital. The most important center for enterprise in the northeast region of British Columbia, Fort St. John’s key industries are oil and gas, agriculture and forestry.
DGS Astro Paving connects the North East by supplying construction materials and services for the region's infrastructure. Our services and products such as aggregates, asphalt concrete, underground, street and highway construction are essential for sustained economic and cultural development throughout the region. With a seasonal workforce of over 110 people, and an extensive fleet of equipment such as trucks, graders, pavers, compactors, DGS Astro Paving realized each year over 105 jobs. With facilities located in Chetwynd, Fort St John, Taylor, Dawson Creek and Fort Nelson, including hot mix asphalt production plants, a ready-mix concrete production unit, gravel pits shops and offices, DGS Astro Paving is proud to be the local construction services supplier of reference in North Eastern British Columbia.
As an involved actor in its community DGS Astro Paving has been a long time partner of charities such as Child Development, Center Minor Hockey, Community Arts Center, Hospital Foundation, Youth Sports, Rotary Club, Salvation Army, Arras Fire Hall and Peace Figure Skating.
