YCS Holdings Ltd. operates through a network of 6 profit centers in Northwestern British Columbia, the North Coast including Queen Charlotte Islands, the Skeena Region, the Bulkley Valley, and the Caribou Region. Established in the early 1990’s, YCS Holding regroups companies with origins dating to the early 1950’s. With the support of four regional offices based in Prince Rupert, Terrace, Smithers and Prince George and our stationary and mobile asphalt plants, concrete plant, gravel pits and large fleet of modern equipment, YCS Holdings can address any size of construction job. From driveways to highways, including subdivisions, airports, commercial and municipal paving, gravel base, concrete and other related infrastructure. We have been making life better for thousands of people, through hard work and problem solving, while offering our customers and employees the rewards and satisfaction that comes from a job well done.
YCS Holdings has developed over time a specific know-how in design-build especially in the forestry industry where site development has played a key role in our success. We pride ourselves in partnering with our customers to deliver turnkey state of the art projects, from conception to realization, including but not limited to design, materials supply, quality control, construction and long term maintenance.
YCS Holdings is also involved in highway paving for the Ministry of Transportation. In 2006 Adventure Paving received The Ministry of Transportation runner-up award for the best paving project in British Columbia. The End Product Specification project on the Queen Charlotte Islands included paving the road connecting Alliford Bay (where B.C. Ferries docks) and Sandspit, and also all of the streets in Sandspit — in total, 19 kilometers of road was paved.
Our teams are very active with the First Nations Communities where we have developed unique partnerships with every project. Hartley Bay, a Village on the west coast of British Columbia approximately 100 km south of Prince Rupert, is an example of some of the challenges and partnering created by working in remote sites. Hartley Bay is accessible only by means of water or air therefore; Ferries, crew boats, barges and float planes are frequently used for transportation of materials and people. There are no hotels or restaurants and you must partner with the band to supply labour as well as to insure a place to stay. Since our conception we have been involved on projects at this site ranging from underground sewer replacements, board walks, wood roads, to bridges. This is only one of many unique situations we work at every day.
YCS Holdings Ltd. has become an expert in providing infrastructure resources to not only meet, but to exceed the expectations of our customers.
In 2009 YCS Holdings Ltd. earned the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) Diamond Achievement Commendation for Excellence in Hot-Mix Asphalt Plant/Site Operations. Earning the Commendation exemplifies the commitment to excellence in all aspects of Hot-Mix Asphalt facilities, and symbolizes continuous improvement in operations and community relations.
